When it comes to ordering from Slant POD, one of the most common questions we receive is, "How long will it take for my order to ship?" The short answer is 2-5 business days. However, the process involves several steps that can affect shipping times, so let’s dive into the details.

The Order Process Explained
Once an order comes through one of our plugins, such as Etsy or Shopify, it enters our master queue. As soon as a 3D printer becomes available, the printing process begins. In an ideal scenario, the part will be printed within 24 hours.

Quality Control and Post-Processing
After printing, each part undergoes a thorough quality control (QC) inspection and post-processing. Once it passes QC, the item is carefully packed for shipment. This is the point at which you’ll see the order status change to "shipped." In some cases, especially for faster prints, items can ship the same day they are printed.

Factors That Can Affect Shipping Times at Slant POD
While our aim is to maintain a quick turnaround, a few factors can delay the shipping process:

Carrier Pickup Schedule
At times, although a part is packed and labeled, it may not be picked up by our shipping carrier until the next day. Our carriers visit our facility every day, but during peak seasons, like the holiday rush, they may come only once or twice daily. For example, if a carrier picks up at 10 AM and we pack an order at 11 AM, the order will show as "shipped" but won't provide further location updates until the next day. We are actively working to enhance our carrier pickup schedule and are exploring options to add our own delivery to carrier hubs to improve this situation.

Quality Control Challenges
Occasionally, a part may print successfully but fail the QC inspection. In such cases, it can take up to a day to evaluate the part, investigate the issue, manually re-slice, and reprint if necessary. At Slant POD, we are committed to delivering high-quality parts, and we prioritize quality over speed. Thus, the only time an order might be delayed beyond the normal 2-5 business days is if we are dissatisfied with the print quality.

To minimize the chances of delays, we encourage our users to print test parts on their own machines before sending files to us.
