This comes up a lot. Folks want to know what it costs to have their part printed.
The short answer, we need to see the part. But the good news is that every 3D model is instantly quoted as soon as you upload it.
So to find out how much it costs to print your part sign in to any of our plugins and then upload a 3D model. There is no obligation or hidden fees.
If you are iterating on a part and want to order a few samples you can upload it to our Prototyping tool: https://www.slant3d.com/quick-prototype-printing. It has the same setting and pricing as our Plugins. (However sometimes the plugins will have materials that the Prototyper does not. We are adding new stuff all the time)
But how do we calculate pricing?
It is NOT just about material or print time. We actually consider a large number of factors from amount of support, to surface area, to probability of print fail (Sometimes people upload parts that can't be printed) All of that is considered in milliseconds in order to give you fast an accurate pricing for the print.
It is also important to know that the price presented is just the cost to print and pack an order. The cost of shipping is added for each order seperately. Because shipping can vary on whether we are shipping around the world or down the street. We can't estimate that until the order actually comes through.
Hopefully that helps you.
Here is a video about good design practices to create parts that are as efficient as possible.
